We believe that this provides our customers with a terrific opportunity. Aussie was formed to give our customers their best telecommunications deal and this is one of the ways we deliver.
Aussie is paid commission directly from our service provider (the Telco) for bringing them new customers. The cost of this commission is not passed on to our customers, due to an existing 'cost balance'.
The Cost Balance exists because the service providers normally incur costs to gain new customers. Whether they employ staff members to cold-call potential customers or develop and perform mail-outs, there is a cost involved. Alternatively, the service provider can use that money and pay Aussie Phone Brokers to bring in new customers; which is the Cost Balance. (Since Aussie offers call rates which match or improve those of the service provider, the cost balance is shown to work.)
The result is that our customers receive a free service.
